Ninetwelve began as a solo project in 2001. The name was taken from a series of short fiction written by frontman Michael Pallante but took on dubios overtones in september of that year. Despite pressure to choose a less pervocative name, ninetwelve remained as the music is a-political. While attending music school Michael Pallante crafted several underground releases including the alternative-electro opera DETOX (2006) and the widely exchanged Your Suicide (2005).
In 2007 ninetwelve released a promotional single I Hope You Die The B side "Cumhog" instantly became a dancefloor mainstay in Philadelphia.
These recordings attracted the attention of Yluko of the multinational act Y-Luk-O. The collaboration between Pallante and Yluko resulted in ninetwelve's debut release AMERICAN ZOMBIE. American Zombie broke new ground for ninetwelve, slick horror themed ebm tracks such as the Argento Tribute "Mother of Darkness" and the title ballad "American Zombie". Creative use of sampling and clear bullhorn vocals typify the horror-ebm styling of American Zombie
