Mysterian was created by Robert Cruzan in 1997 as a reflection of inner thought and forlorn experiences to fill an artistic
void left uncharted by his other musical projects and to construct from the surrounding chaos an artistic vision of beauty,
darkness, and magical concepts through sounds, images, and words. The band name also refers to the idea that many
aspects of human consciousness will always remain unknowable and a mystery unexplainable by the human mind at its
current evolutionary stage.
After several promo and demo releases, Dark Vinyl/Memento Mori (Germany) signed Mysterian in 2000 for the release of
the demo version of "A Rose For The Dying" (2001). "The Thorn That Draws Blood" was completed in 2004, but has
remained unheard and unreleased until now through the interest and help of Shinto Records. The sound and atmosphere
sought after from the beginning was finally achieved on this recording. Mysterian is currently re-recording "A Rose For The
Dying" in its entirety and working on a new album for 2009, "Broken Mirror Of Dreams".
As the ocean tides are swayed by the waxing and waning moon, Mysterian shall risefrom the depths, again and again.
"Mysterian is an isolated endeavor that conjures romantic images of the ancient past and the secret mysteries of sorrow.
Cascading sounds of the netherworld collide with the subtle beauty of divine darkness as subtle passages carry the
listener into a hallowed world of despair and depression. Cold in concept, Mysterian offers a style to be appreciated by those owning a kinship with the darker qualities of life." ~ Michael Riddick, The Fossil Dungeon
